A baby gorilla was born early Tuesday at the Oklahoma City Zoo, zoo officials said Friday.

Guests visiting the Oklahoma City Zoo and Botanical Garden Saturday, June 2, are invited to celebrate half a century of Cindy the chimpanzee in the Great EscApe outdoor habitat from 10-11 a.m. 

Beloved silverback gorilla Tatu died Saturday afternoon after Oklahoma City zoo veterinarians noticed the 41-year-old gorilla's declining health, the Oklahoma City Zoo said.
